About the event

Join us for a warm and welcoming family friendly celebration of the winter solstice, the longest night of the year. As we mark the return of winter guests will enjoy time in the forest with lantern-lit pathways, fire celebration hosted by our friend Elysha, and a cozy outdoor fire where we’ll share stories, warm drinks, and intentions for the year ahead. This year’s event invites our community to pause, reflect, and welcome the slow, steady lengthening of the days.

The event starts at 4:30pm sharp so we encourage you to arrive 10-15 minutes early as we will be walking into the forest to the "gathering spot" to start the celebration. If you arrive late, you are still welcome to join us, just follow the park maps and signs marked with stars.

Things to bring:

  • Don't forget to bring cash - we will have a few vendors selling hot drinks, treats…

We want to acknowledge that we play, learn & explore on the stolen lands and unceeded Anishinabewaki territory of the Anishinaabe people; and the lands of the Omamiwininiwag (Algonquin) people and Kanien'kehá:ka (Mohawk) people of the Haudenosaunee Confederacy of six nations.

We offer an inclusive space by honoring everyone’s unique being, their race, their individual beliefs, language, religion & gender identities & fluidities. We honor our human peer’s pronouns and consistently respect & use them. We extend love to all our living relations by fully respecting all individual needs without judgment.
