Meet Amy

Director of Vision & Voice

She/ Her

Bio

Amy was introduced to the magic of Forest and Nature School while looking for a safe and educational place to bring her daughter just after the pandemic. A nature enthusiast herself, she wanted her daughter to spend time in nature to learn about the magic that mother nature shares with us and give her daughter the opportunity to make friends with other high energy children. After her daughter completed the first program with Wild Fauna Nature School they were both in love with the programs, facilitators and the philosophy of child-led play. Amy felt a pull to helping more and asked to become involved in any way she could.

Amy has an extensive background in business and marketing after working over 15 years in the industry and running her own marking consulting business for 9 of those years. After giving birth to her daughter she realized that her passions and priorities changed. She jumped feet first into attending classes and online programs about child care, mental health and natural living to support her desire to work with children in a holistic environment.

She is inspired by the the energy that surrounds us in nature and everyday life and the deep seeded desire to make each child's day just a little happier and better than the day before.

Amy plays a fundamental role in how Wild Fauna Nature Play runs through marketing and administration. You may also find her at drop off with her daughter as she attends our preschool program or helping facilitate on occasion.

We want to acknowledge that we play, learn & explore on the stolen lands and unceeded Anishinabewaki territory of the Anishinaabe people; and the lands of the Omamiwininiwag (Algonquin) people and Kanien'kehá:ka (Mohawk) people of the Haudenosaunee Confederacy of six nations.

We offer an inclusive space by honoring everyone’s unique being, their race, their individual beliefs, language, religion & gender identities & fluidities. We honor our human peer’s pronouns and consistently respect & use them. We extend love to all our living relations by fully respecting all individual needs without judgment.
