A Fire to Gather Around: A New Beginning for Wild Fauna Nature Play

There’s something timeless about gathering around a fire. The warmth draws us in, the flames spark curiosity, and the space invites connection. At our Open House, families experienced this magic together as we lit the first fire in our beautifully crafted fire pit—a meaningful addition to our new space, generously created and donated by V&S Designs.

As the fire crackled, children and parents gathered close, sharing stories, laughter, and moments of reflection. The flickering light felt like a symbol of new beginnings, marking the start of many gatherings to come. This fire pit is more than just a place to keep warm—it will become a space for storytelling, outdoor cooking, lessons in fire tending, and shared experiences in all seasons.

The generosity behind this gift extends beyond the physical fire pit itself. It is a contribution to a space where children can build confidence, where families can connect with nature, and where memories will be made. The first fire was just the beginning—many more will follow, each one bringing its own magic.

If you’re looking for a beautifully designed metal fire pit, garden stakes, or custom signs, be sure to check out V&S Designs. Their craftsmanship speaks for itself, and we are so grateful to have one of their creations as part of our forest school.

We want to acknowledge that we play, learn & explore on the stolen lands and unceeded Anishinabewaki territory of the Anishinaabe people; and the lands of the Omamiwininiwag (Algonquin) people and Kanien'kehá:ka (Mohawk) people of the Haudenosaunee Confederacy of six nations.

We offer an inclusive space by honoring everyone’s unique being, their race, their individual beliefs, language, religion & gender identities & fluidities. We honor our human peer’s pronouns and consistently respect & use them. We extend love to all our living relations by fully respecting all individual needs without judgment.
