May 3rd: Beltane Celebration in the Woods

We welcome children from near and far to celebrate with us on May 3rd as we celebrate Beltane, the ancient Celtic festival marking the halfway point between the spring equinox and summer solstice. Rooted in traditions of fire, growth, and the joyful union of the earth and sun, Beltane invites us to revel in the season of growth, passion, and possibility.

What to Expect

Our Beltane celebration is a vibrant, community-centered event designed for children in mind and filled with music, dance, and deep connection. Whether you’re a seasoned practitioner of earth-based spirituality or simply curious about the traditions, you’re warmly welcome to participate.

The Highlights:

  • Maypole Dance: Join hands with others and weave vibrant ribbons around the maypole in a joyous spiral of unity and celebration.

  • Hanging Ribbon Wishes in the Trees: We will set intentions and wishes for the rest of spring and our future summer by handing ribbons

  • Campfire Storytelling: We’ll light the a fire—symbolizing purification and protection—and share enlightening stories that inspire and educate.

  • Crafting & Flower Crowns: Make your own Beltane crown of blossoms and greenery.

  • The crowning of a May Queen and King: They will lead us in dancing and represent the balance in energies that nourish all life.
